Training day with the ACF in Northamptonshire. Bit late. Snow on roads my official excuse. Luckily everyone was just gathered for a cuppa. More practice of map folding, then the elite few (!) ventured off into the snow for a morning of compass free navigation skills, mainly based on the collection of handlebars!
In the afternoon we had a lesson on camouflage and concealment. We were then taken out into the woods. And shot. Not really, just covered in camo paint. Later to discover that they lied. Soap and water does not get it off. We were then instructed to go hide. Dressed head to toe in green and brown camo gear, and asked to go hide in a snow covered wood. Tricky. However, occasionally my size and ability to wriggle into small spaces does come into useful.
Snowy drive back, dropped off eggs with Colin... so relieved to receive the "Easter Egg Run is cancelled" text, got fuel, and started to pack for Cornwall. All with a half camouflaged face!
Perfect for concealment at a army gay pride event, but little else. Lol! On the list of likely events that's up there with the pope attending a civil partnership ceremony.
