So, Tuesday afternoon back in April. Half an hour to go at Go before going to Clare. Manager comes over and says "Gem your bike's been hit in the car park". Yes, yes very funny says I. "no, really" says he. Well. It well and truly had. Luckily (for me, not the poor guy) a colleague had seen it happen. The person who somehow managed to not see Gladis parked and reversed into her so hard that she was inverted knocked over is only still alive because Gladis missed his car by a couple of inches. I came outside to see this...
Next stage of the story is very dull and involved a lot of nagging and 'pleeeeaaassseeeee' with Arnolds to try to get Gladis back in time for the Wales trip. So on the Thursday afternoon at 4pm I went and collected her, now functioning but with battle scars still evident. At 4.20 I went back to Arnold's with a full tank to get the handlebars put right. Knew from the second I got on they weren't right. Shame I didn't notice till I was on the way to the meet point Friday morning that the mirrors wouldn't stay in place and they had lost my GPS mount. Sigh.
