2013 Achievements and Half Term in Norwich

One thing ticked off the 2013 To Do List. I managed to get all the 2011 photos in iPhoto backed up onto DVD and HDD, and cleared a few off the Macbook. However I fear that I added more things to the To Do list.

How about the rest of the things I wanted to get done over half term? Well..

Monday: Uncle Terry's funeral. Woke up to snow. Cleaned bike. Arrived in time to help serving teas. The church was absolutely packed. Every chair in church used, and still many standing. The first song set me off.. the sound of so many people singing. The tribute from Colin and Ian was really good. Still crying when we went out to the bikes to accompany Terry on his last ride. The Triumph hearse was head of the pack going very slowly to the crem. V cold hands by the time we got there, but we did all get there. CMA guys from all over came. He touched so many lives. And he wasn't grumpy... he was the mature voice of reason!!

Tues: photo back up, then had to go to Glenfield for Jamie, then sorting mail pile. Then one of my favourite days of the year.. as I know exactly what to have for tea..

Worship group practice in the evening.. drum lesson with Tyler.. then mouth seems to have volunteered me for playing keys! I did point out that I failed grade 4 piano twice.. but this seems to be as effective as telling school I only got a B at GCSE Maths!

Wed: work. Arguements over text. Nearly lost job. Bible study at Mags. Man hug from Paul.

Thurs: drove to Norwich. This was the progress made before I left... note absence of mail pile!

Hmm, no real improvement here..

Close.. but no cigar..

Back in Norwich.. Dicky Valentine left the old cars puzzle for Ma and Pa on the doorstep. Had a quick sort through all the crates of stuff from the loft.. found these at long last!!

Also found some school reports.. this one is quite good (though not many would believe it now) .. all the rest said I was slow!!! Ma tells me that once she went to my school to correct a teacher.. apparently this teacher had said I was stupid.. Ma leapt to my defence.. "she's not stupid, she's slow!!" Gee thanks Ma!

Also found a strange looking lamb..

And a suicidal bunny.. he looks sooooo miserable..

Dropped Pops's phone off, neat excuse to go to Go Outdoors. Then did a charity shop crawl around Anglia Square. Search for iPod in secondhand stores failing miserably. Ma used brilliant excuse 'I've got a headache, I need a donut!' In the evening we went (bargain Groupon) bowling with Chalkie. Ma whooped us both games. Thanks to a tenth frame near turkey in game 1 and me being awful in game 2. Free skittles!!! lol.

Fri: usual faffing then off to Castle Museum.

This was the route the Olympic Torch came down from the Castle.. and, we found out, where hangings used to take place, on the bridge.

Er.. huh?

Trying to be arty.. not very well though..

I made an arch. Badly.

Snap.. the dragon from the Lord Mayor's Procession.. one of the things I remembered from school trips..

LOL!

Remembered these guys too.. but I think they were displayed differently..

Revived midway by a scrummy cream tea, but were both museum-ed out after many hours. Docs for one Nan (amazed we remembered) then visited other Nan. She was on top form. Including the only reference to "being off boys" my family have ever made to my face. Playing silly buggers saying goodbye. Hurrah for the Leggett sense of humour. After that I went to Chalkie's to show him some stuff on the iPad. Dratted PC didn't want to work in his house.

Saturday: City with Chalkie. He gave me a masterclass in speed shopping. I like Slaters.. very helpful, plus fed me coffee and chocolates hehe. I like Apple too, but don't have the £200 required for an iPod, so will carry on with eBay. I was very well behaved, even in Animal. Meanwhile the Golf passed his MoT and got cleaned (guilt trip). Think I tried to play guitar in the afternoon, then we did board games in the evening, after I actually cleared my plate of S+S.Finished Ma's puzzle. Ish.

Sunday: Time with Elsie, then Jimbob came over. He is the pinnacle of the Leggett sense of humour. Harumph and nom are the words of the day.

Yaaaaaay!!!! Got to spend the whole day playing with Jay Jay and got a little cuddle with Jenson..

It's all gone old skool this week, what with all the finds from the loft.. JJ found the Royal Mail Van in the shed... Pops threatened to throw this out twenty years ago, and got threatened right back..

Naturally Pops had to have a go too..

Yeah, ok.. I couldn't resist..

Jenson wanted in on the action too..

After lots of encouragement.. we moved Jay Jay onto the big boys toys!

Chin on the tank if you want to go faster!!

Oooh.. v grumpy.. must be that he doesn't want to leave his Auntie Gemma!!

Tea, board game and home. Uneventful always good.
