Jay Jay's Baptism

Still catching up. Sunday March 20th.

World first.. all ready on time. Lovely ride out in clean Moby with Mum. Would have laughed at Steve nearly getting stuck under the bridge, but feared that may be me one day. Was freezing in church (tgf skins). Cleverly sat at the back so that we would be at the front. Maybe that was why I didn't get told off for laughing during a beautiful musical moment, the delightful combination of the vicar giving us his dodgy grade 1 style playing of Morning Has Broken on a tiny Yamaha keyboard at the front, with Mum next to me giving it her best effort with a gravely sore throat voice. Angelic it was!

Jay Jay was adorable. He was almost given an additional middle name of "Er". Jay Jay Andrew Thomas Er Leggett.

He was behaving perfectly until he got soaked by the vicar, at which point, quite rightly, he full on cried. Being mean, we all laughed.

After the church had emptied I had a couple of minutes back inside with J, where I made some promises with God.

Took the roof down on Moby for the ride to village hall. Disappointingly Mum didn't look like Bridget Jones when we arrived. At the party I was mostly in the kitchen making tea and coffee... my years of training at church paid off finally. The rest of the party was mostly talking with Steve and Chalkie about films and Transporters. MFA made me cry, at which point I discovered that it is very difficult to hide in an open top car.

Recovered later for a little play with Jay Jay. It is my role as (hopefully) Cool Auntie to teach him about sports cars and motorbikes and big boys toys. And the little boys toys too... got him some Duplo as well as a bible!

About 4 I had a nice ride back through Lincolnshire following Tom. Made it in plenty of time for the meal at Wysall with Wendy and Bea. Once they let me in. I had to vault the fence and knock on the kitchen door (they were easily impressed). Spent the rest of the evening trading iPhone apps with Glennis. Disappointed I didn't get to talk much with Wendy, as she is about the one person now who understands me, but at least I got a hug.
